AIPPI’s (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle) 41st World Intellectual Property Congress was a resounding success. The Congress, held in the United States for the first time in 33 years, attracted over 2,000 people, including highly experienced and respected outside intellectual property counsel, corporate intellectual property counsel, academics and judges from around the world. There were 1,711 delegates from 76 countries registered for the Congress, who debated resolutions on four working questions, agreed on some fundamental changes to the organizing statutes and regulations to modernize the structure of AIPPI, and attended 20 workshops and five breakfast roundtables.
